Vintage Cameo Enamel Guilloche Locket with Hand-Painted Roses

This is a very quaint little vintage locket shaped like a book with a cameo vignette on the front surrounded by buttery yellow enamel guilloche with hand-painted roses.  Inside are oval holders for two small photos.  The enameling on the front is perfect with no scuffs or scratches visible at all.  The back has some very faint scuff marks that show up way more in the photo than in person.  All in all, a great piece ready to use with your photos inside.  Measures 1" wide x almost 1-1/4" high not counting bail.  Chain is 18" long.

Sterling Silver Hand-Painted Enamel Guilloche Locket with Hand-Painted Rose Made by Birmingham Medal Co.

This gorgeous little sterling silver locked with a full pale buttery yellow enamel guilloche front with hand-painted pink rose was made by the Birmingham Medal Co. of Birminham, England, circa 1920's-30's.  It has an embossed border around the guilloche front and a polished back.  The bail is exceptionally nice in that it has an open end through which to insert the chain.  Inside the piece is hallmarked on both sides for STERLING and BMCO and still retains the original mica covers.  I have included a new sterling silver chain to go with it.  Excellent condition with no damage but there is a small spot on the back that may polish out.  Enamel is all perfect!   The locket itself measures 1-3/8" long x a bit over 3/4" wide .  The chain and bail add a 9-1/4" drop.

Lovely Hand-Painted Enamel Guilloche Locket with Gold Butterfly Made by D. F. Briggs Co.

I have not run across many lockets made by D. F. Briggs ... mostly they dealt in compacts and necessaires but this is an exception.  This lovely locket is oval shaped and has a bright turquoise enamel guilloche with hand-painted pink roses on the left side and a gold butterfly fluttering nearby. Inside the locket can be found two sections for small photos with the original retaining rings and cello covers still intact.  Both sides are marked D.F.B. at the bottom of each.  The chain that came with this is also very pretty and has an embossed (both sides) bail and embossed links as well.  I cannot find any sterling marks so can't say that it is but it does tarnish like silver so maybe it is.  I have not removed the covers in the locket to see if there are any markings beneath those, so possibly it is there.  Excellent condition with no damage whatsoever.  The locket measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/8" wide .  The chain and bail add a 10-1/2" drop.

Beautiful Sterling Silver Hand-Painted Enamel Guilloche Locket

Here is a really unique little sterling silver locket in a very rare design with an enamel guilloche center vignette with a pink hand-painted rose in full bloom.  It is just so pretty!  The sterling silver surround has incised designs which were hand tooled into the piece.  I am not certain what the date is or where it originated, but it has a Victorian feel to me and I would guesstimate it to be from the latter 1800's. The only marks I can find on the piece is the word "STERLING" stamped on the inside of the locket.  The back of the piece is solid silver.  The chain is, in my opinion, not original to the piece.  It does not open in the conventional manner but simply slips over the head.  The locket measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/4" wide.  The chain is about 24" long.

Blue Enamel Guilloche Locket by F & B

This gorgeous little locket is a beautiful shade of pale aqua blue with radiating guilloche designs surrounded by a thin border of white.  The back of the locket is gold metal, whether or not it is solid gold I can't say as the piece is so tiny I can't see any hallmarks to indicate it as such but it does appear to be gold to my eye.  The inside of the compact has a circle with the letters F and B clearly visible but the "&" sign is harder to see.  Again, it is just so tiny ... the overall size of the locket is a wee 5/8" high x 1/2" wide.  The chain is not original to the piece but was with it when I bought it so I am keeping it together.  The chain has a tag with hallmarks on it that are either for sterling or gold, I cannot be sure, but it was made in Turkey.  The chain measures 18" long not counting the bail.  It is a beautiful piece with no damage to the enamel whatsoever; the back of the locket does have wear scuffs that are more visible in the photos than in person, bearing in mind that the photos are many times larger than the original piece!

Note:  When I purchased this, it was sold to me as "sterling"; however, since I cannot verify that by the hallmarks, I am selling it as possibly sterling.

Beautiful Sterling Silver Hand-Painted Enamel Guilloche Locket Made in Germany

This truly beautiful little locket is made of Sterling Silver from Germany and has a fully hand-painted front in turquoise enamel guilloche with pink hand-painted roses in full bloom.  It is just so pretty!  And the back side of the locket is also done in the same turquoise enamel guilloche minus the roses.  The enamel is all in absolutely pristine condition with no apologies whatsoever.  Inside the locket can be found two sections for small photos with the original retainers still intact (the mica covers are not there).  It is a truly beautiful little locket ... I will include a new sterling silver chain to go with this piece so it can be worn right away!  The locket measures almost 1" long (with bail) x 5/8" wide .

Teal Blue Enamel Guilloche Bracelet Locket

Here is a very pretty bracelet locket in a gold metal (bought as gold filled but I cannot find any markings anywhere).  The top of the locket is a fully enamel guilloche cover in teal which is quite pretty.  There is an area right near the opening that is either a manufacturing miss or a chip ... to be honest, it looks more like factory to me but there is a wee bit of enamel missing along the very edge. In my opinion, it is not a high quality piece so it could be original.  Nevertheless, I bought this in 2005 for my own collection simply because bracelet lockets, watches, etc. are very difficult to find and I wanted it!  LOL ... it is still a very desirable piece and the enameling is in excellent shape with the exception of the missing area I already mentioned.  Inside the locket there is still a photo of a young man ... no idea who he is.  The original retainer is still in plae but no mica covering.   The attached wristband is elastic and can expand to slide over your hand.  The locket measures just under 1-1/8" diameter.  The wristband links are 3/4" long each and expand from that.

Sterling Silver Hand-Painted Flowers Enamel Guilloche Locket with Tassel and Matching Slide Ribbon

This delightful little locket is made of sterling silver with a beautiful hand-painted rose with blue forget-me-nots on the front. The locket is attached to a black ribbon with a matching blue enamel guilloche slide to adjust it.  The locket is finished off with a tassel at the bottom.  Back of the locket has incised lines and a little cartouche where a monogram could be added (none ever was).  It is marked Sterling on the inside retainer ring.  One retainer ring is still in place and the other is missing although a picture could be pressed into place. The enameling is in mint condition and the ribbon is also in like-new condition.  The locket itself measures 1-5/8" x 7/8".  With bail and tassel it is 3" long.  The ribbon is 17" long when stretched out (double that for total length).

Gorgeous Rolled Gold Plate Jeweled Locket by W & H Co. - "There's a Heart in Every Locket" - with Original Ornate Book Link Chain

This is a stunning locket made circa 1900 by Wightman & Hough Co. of Providence, Rhode Island.  The company was in business from 1856 - 1922 and their slogan was "There's a heart in every locket" which referred to their company logo --W & H Co. in a small heart -- found inside their lockets.  All of their lockets were made of quarter gold or fine rolled gold plate.  This particular locket has a diagonal design of inset "diamond" stones which they referred to as "brilliants".  The interior has both of the original cello inserts and the original chain is a very ornate engraved book link style.  The locket is in excellent condition.  Be sure to look at all the photos including copies of three original ads which tells more about their jewelry.  Locket measures 1-3/16" diameter and the chain is 17" long.

Evans Double Enamel Guilloche Locket with Hand-Painted Roses

Evans makes some of the prettiest enamel guilloche lockets and this is another striking example done in double enamel guilloche (front and back) with hand-painted roses on the front.  This one appears to have never been used as the original cello covers and papers are still found inside.  I assume that the bail is original but the chain (which is gold tone) is more than likely not.  But it is easy enough to change the chain to whatever size you want.  The enameling on the front is perfect with no scuffs or scratches visible at all.  The back is near perfect with a small flake in the enamel at the very bottom edge ... nearly invisible when hanging since it is on the curved portion (see photos).  All in all, a great piece ready to use with your photos inside.  Measures 1-1/8" wide x 1-5/8" long not counting bail.

Enamel Guilloche Locket with Matching Chain by D. F. Briggs Co.

Here is a very pretty locket with the front covered entirely in lovely enamel guilloche with a hand-painted rose in the center on snow white with aqua blue sides accented in gold made by D. F. Briggs.  The back of the locket is just plain silver.  I cannot find a sterling mark on the case but there is a sterling stamp on the ring of the necklace.  Inside is a double photo section, one side of which still retains a "handsome" (ahem!) distinguished looking gent ... perhaps the husband or father of the original owner.  The protective photo covers are both still intact.  The chain that comes with it has two blue enamel guilloche bars in very good condition ... there is just a bit of loss on the tip of one side of one bar.  The locket's enamel guilloche is in excellent condition.  It is signed on the inside rim of the locket on both left and right sides. Locket measures a wee bit over 1-1/2" high (not counting bail) x 1-1/4" wide.  The chain is 20-1/2" long total not counting bail.

German (800) Silver Art Nouveau Locket with Ruby Jewel and Etched Rose

This is a very unique locket done in Art Nouveau style with a lovely engraved rose on the front and an inset ruby gem (not sure if it is real as I have not checked it). It is very pretty in its elegant simplicity. The back of the piece has a pebbled or hammered effect. The interior still has both retention rings (in the photos there is blue paper inside which I have left). The bail and hanging ring are both still intact and the ring is stampted 800 for the silver content. This is generally referred to as German Silver but could also have been used in France and Belgium. It measures almost 1-1/8" diameter and is in excellent condition.
